Our garden

I can't take an ounce of credit for our garden this year as I hardly planted anything. I honestly thought that I would be more involved at this stage but I seem to be less involved with each passing year. Needless to say I appreciate every dragon tongue bean and dahlia that my husband sows. I love wandering down the street when the sun is low and the air has cooled to our little plot of land at the end of the road. We always arrive with a sense of anticipation, our baskets ready, our fingers eager. We savour warm, ripe cherry tomatoes, nibble on scarlet runners, and collect all the zucchini that have doubled in size since our last visit.

Our orange boy kitty we refer to as "Oscar" usually follows us down and lolls around until we head back home.

Nathaniel always checks on his bees and then starts weeding the heck out of our garden.

This year we have had the privilege of picking raspberries in the owner's garden.

Food Share has a large garden on Allan's 5 acre farm. I love that they are growing flowers in addition to an incredible variety of vegetables.

The children always spend a considerable amount of time catching snakes, crickets and grasshoppers.
