It's a BOY!!!!!!!

I am so excited to announce that we are expecting a BOY! We are thrilled! I went for my ultrasound on Wednesday not expecting to find out the gender but hoping that the ultrasound technician would be able to  put it in the report for my midwife. After she finished the diagnostic portion of the ultrasound, she turned the screen so that I could see my baby. At one point I pointed at the screen and said "is that a penis"? When she nodded and said "it certainly looks like that to me", my heart leapt with joy! Nathaniel and I would have been happy to welcome another little girl into our family, but we are looking forward to the opportunity to raise a little man. We had decided before we got pregnant that this would be our last child regardless of the gender, so this was a treat.

Yippeee!!!!

He is Alive!!!

Everyone once and awhile I hear a song that speaks to the deepest parts of me. Right now, that song is Forever (Live) by Kari Jobe. As Easter approaches I cant help but think about the tremendous sacrifice that Jesus made for mankind. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude and wonder. As tears pour down my cheeks my daughters ask "why are you crying mom".  I am crying because I am so thankful for what Jesus did for me. He is so good!

"Forever"

One final breath He gave
As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken
The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive

I recently watched The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe with my girls and loved being able to explain how Jesus is like the lion in the film. He took our penalty upon himself so that we would be freed, just as he offered himself as a sacrifice in exchange for Edmund's  freedom.

Anyone can die for a cause, and there have been many martyrs throughout history, but only Jesus had the power to resurrect himself from the grave and break the power of sin over mankind. And that is why I sing "Hallelujah the lamb has overcome" at the top of my lungs!!!!!

Project Life

For some time I have wanted to participate in something called project life. It is something that I have been familiar with for a few years and I have always loved the concept. Essentially it is a simplified approach to scrap booking that makes capturing everyday life more attainable. I started in January, and I am hopeful that I will continue doing it for a full year. While I enjoy blogging, I wanted something more concrete that reflects our day to day lives. Doing project life encourages me to live in the moment and notice all the little and big things that fill our days. The snowdrop clusters in our shade garden, Amelia's drawings, yummy food, activities with friends, highlights, ect....

I used my forty percent coupon at Michaels to buy a project life kit called 5th and frolic.

I also purchased an album and a box of clear pages.

My cover page.
The photos on this particular page were taken by photographer Nancy Tait of Joyful Images.

Here are a few of my completed pages. They aren't completely finished, as they need a bit more journaling and some fun accents, but other than that, I love how easy the process is.

There you have it. Project Life.

Makes documenting life easy peasy!

Wordless Wednesday

I can't seem to find the time, energy or inspiration to actually WRITE so I am just going to share a few photos that make my heart HAPPY!
